Peruíbe: mineral riches, natural beauty and many flying saucers
The beaches, forests, islands and mountains of the Peruíbe region are full of UFO sightings

Located on the south coast of São Paulo, Peruíbe is a place full of natural charms, which include stunning beaches, rivers and mountains, as well as historical sites and many legends. Considered an excellent location for both ecological tourism and rural tourism, the city, however, does not only attract people in search of its beauties — UFOs also seem to be passionate about the place. As in some other parts of the planet, Peruíbe concentrates many UFO sightings and cases.
There are so many UFO occurrences that the city government decided, years ago, to support the creation of the first itinerary for UFO tourism in the country, using the constant presence of spacecraft and probes in the municipality as an additional attraction for its many beauties. The announcement of the implementation was made in November 2009 by Eduardo Ribas, then director of the Department of Tourism and Culture of Peruíbe, and today secretary of Tourism of the city. Thus, the Ufological Route of Peruíbe was born.
The success of the idea was immediate and it only grew in all these years. The itinerary includes visits to the region’s natural beauties, vigils and visits to several of the places where famous UFO events took place. Tourists and residents who visit the points that make up the tour receive detailed information about happenings in those places. Among them are Barra do Una, the Ruins of Abarebebê, Guaraú, Perequê, Bairro São José, the set of beach, canal and Costão de Peruíbe and Pedra da Serpente.
Together with the implementation of the ufological script, came almost simultaneously the realization of the UFO Meeting of Peruíbe, a winning initiative that this year had its thirteenth edition. The event has, every year, attracted more and more people, who in turn move the city’s activities. For traders, the extra movement is always very welcome and they have started to embrace the fact that Peruíbe is an attractive UFO hub.
In fact, residents and entrepreneurs of Peruíbe realized that Ufotourism can be a profitable activity, as long as it is practiced seriously. “That’s exactly what we intend here: to make people who live in Peruíbe proud of their situation as a point of high ufological incidence, and show these facts to visitors”, says Ribas, one of the people responsible for the Peruíbe UFO Encounter and by the script, whose implementation was already requested by the population for a long time, since the intense local casuistry was detected.
