What Happened in Rendlesham Forest: UFO and Alien Encounter
Rendlesham is a large pine forest in Suffolk, England, and the starring role in one of the most popular UFO incidents. Near the forest are two NATO twin airbases, RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge, which were leased to the United States Air Force at the time.
The Rendlesham Forest incident is the UK’s best-documented UFO case, and here are the details.
In the early hours of December 26, 1980, John Burroughs and Jim Penniston of the USAF were investigating the alleged crash of a civilian plane. But, instead, they claimed to have found an unidentified craft on the forest floor.
As it approached, the craft appeared as a “strange luminous object”. Penniston says he was close enough to the object to see hieroglyphic symbols on it; he was even close enough to touch him.
“The shell fabric was more like black, smooth, opaque glass,” Penniston describes. It was triangular in shape, metallic, about 3 meters in diameter and 2 meters in height. There was a reddish light on top of the craft and blue lights on the underside. It seemed to stand on legs or hover just above the ground.
Penniston and Burroughs saw the craft rise after a while, and at very high speed it moved away from them. The investigation continued in the days that followed. Landing marks were found in the ground where the two USAF personnel claimed to have seen the craft.
Three landing gear depressions, each an identical depth of 4 cm and a diameter of 18 cm. Scorch marks were found on the sides of nearby trees. And through beta/gama testing, moderate radiation levels were found in the specific area.
Two nights later, the base’s deputy commander, Charles Halt, went to investigate in the forest. He reports seeing a sun-like light through the trees, which moved and pulsated across the sky.
The light appeared to shoot out luminous particles before shattering into five distinct white objects which quickly disappeared. Immediately afterwards, three star-like objects were noticed in the sky. There were two to the north, and one to the south. They all had red, green, and blue lights and moved quickly in sudden movements.
“It looks like an eye winking at you… And the flash is so bright on the telescope it almost burns your eye.” reports Charles Halt.
That night, Private Larry Warren and Sergeant Adrien Bustinza were sent on patrol with other servicemen. After 11 p.m., the men got into their trucks and headed for the field where the lights had previously been spotted.
As they got closer to the field, Warren saw “disaster preparedness officers here with Geiger counters doing an almost half-hearted movement around this thing on the ground.” He then claims to have seen a small red light coming from the coast.
“It moved in an arc downward, so quickly. [It] stopped and hovered about 6 meters above the ground. He describes it as the size of an American basketball. Suddenly, he said, it exploded and a device immediately appeared on the forest floor.
The men were ordered to leave the site. After leaving the site, they both saw Wing Commander Gordon Williams approach the vessel. They then saw Williams talking to an alien being who had “what looked like eyes, facial features, shiny clothes and another device. »
Around 4:30 am, Bustinza sees the machine fly away. “When he took off, he was, like, hovering. It lifted and took off at about a 45 degree angle, and if you had blinked you would have missed it. »
According to recently released national records, the entity was 1.5 meters tall and wore nylon-covered pressure suits. This intelligence was recorded speaking with an electronically synthesized English-speaking American accent. They would have three fingers, claw-like hands and opposable thumbs.
However, the Ministry of Defense and RAF report suggests there is no indication that the UK’s air defenses were breached.
In 2014, Daniel Simpson directed and filmed ‘The Rendlesham UFO Incident’ in Rendlesham Forest. He found a series of mysterious trapdoors during filming. Forestry commissions towed one of the trapdoors that opened onto a descending ladder. He was told that these were drainage systems for the airfield.
Perhaps in time more evidence will surface on the Rendlesham UFO case, and perhaps there will be more sightings. All we know is that the mysterious forest of Rendlesham attracts either intelligent life from beyond or fascinating stories from the imaginations of intelligent minds.
