Famous ‘Project Blue Book’ Returns: US Would Have Official Office to Investigate UFOs

In more than 50 years, the US government may soon create its first UFO investigative agency, reports thedebrief.org.

According to sources, a provision of the upcoming National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2022 provides for the creation of a new permanent agency dedicated to investigating unidentified aerial phenomena.

If this provision is passed, it will be the first time in the United States since Project Blue Book, which ran from 1952 to 1969.

The precise text of the document is as follows:

“No later than 180 days after the date of proclamation of this Act, the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence, shall establish an office within the Office of the Secretary of Defense to carry out, department-wide, the mission currently accomplished by the working group on unidentified aerial phenomena on the date of promulgation of this law. »

This action demonstrates that the US government is paying attention to the UFO phenomenon and that those in power believe it is important enough to merit further research.

The new UAP office would be responsible for:

– Develop procedures to synchronize and standardize the collection, reporting and analysis of unidentified aerial phenomena incidents across the Department of Defense.

– Develop processes and procedures to ensure that such incidents from each military department are reported and incorporated into a centralized repository.

– Establish procedures to require timely and consistent reporting of such incidents.

– Assess links between unidentified aerial phenomena and adversarial foreign governments, other foreign governments or non-state actors.

– Assess the threat that such incidents pose to the United States.

– Coordinate with other federal government departments and agencies as appropriate.

– Coordinate with U.S. allies and partners, as appropriate, to better assess the nature and extent of unidentified aerial phenomena.

If the new office sees the light of day, it will be fascinating to see what they come up with.
