As most of our readers are already aware, the Nellis Test Range complex has hosted some of our country’s most secret TOP SECRET PROJECTS and BLACK PROJECTS. Secret projects such as the U2, SR71, B2 bomber, Aurora and F117A Nighthawk stealth fighter have all been based or tested there at one time or another.
It only makes sense that this is where we’d expect to find some of our latest technological developments and it’s in that spirit that we’re now discussing one of the most exotic aircraft we’ve seen emerge from Nellis.
This UFO was filmed in 1994 by a state-of-the-art government-controlled radar tracking system at a remote tracking location known as Area S30 on the Nellis Range. Radar-controlled cameras monitor the 12,400 square km above the firing range.
The purpose of these cameras is to record the training and tactical exercises of fighter aircraft; after all, Nellis is known as “the home of the fighter pilot”, as most American fighter aces have resided in Nellis.
The most logical explanation for this UFO would be that it is some sort of secret project, but usually tracking station personnel are not exposed to these highly confidential projects and cameras are normally disabled when these types of projects are underway.
Tolicha Peak, Quartz Mountain or Black Mountain?
The exact location of the “S30 area” on the range has not been determined, but a few frames from the video show a mountain range with what appear to be two radar domes.
It has been reported that it could be Tolicha Peak, Quartz or Black Mountain. The Tolicha Peak area is interesting because it is where the Tolicha Peak Electronic Firing Range is located.
Although the object was photographed by a very good remote-controlled still camera, it still has that fuzzy, gassy cotton ball appearance that seems to be common to some UFOs. You would think the clarity and resolution would have been much better, but that seems to be typical of these objects.
The object is abnormal for several reasons. It does not resemble any known aircraft and has no visible wings or means of propulsion.
The flight characteristics of the craft are totally unconventional compared to known aircraft. When watching the video, the object appears to make sharp right turns and horizontal climbs.
The object’s physical form is difficult to determine and appears to change shape from frame to frame; it sometimes appears to be 4 spheres with a darker appendage in the middle.
Air Traffic Control – Radio Transmission
Here is an excerpt from the radio transmission captured with the video. What this transmission clearly shows is that the ATC/Airspace Controller had no idea what this plane was and what it was doing.
CONTROL: I see a plane heading north fairly quickly.
OPERATOR: I have a helo (helicopter in slang).
OPERATOR: At 11 o’clock?
OPERATOR 1: Yeah, I can’t figure out where he is on that thing.
CONTROL: Watch out… We’re packed.
OPERATOR 2: What is it?
OPERATOR 1: I don’t know. No idea. A helicopter?
OPERATOR: Looks good. It’s very high, no. It goes, like straight up.
We have spotted this unknown object. A plane of a certain type. We’ll aim for it anyway, to see what happens. It appears to be hovering here. [Gives orientation of UFO]. It seems to go outward very slowly. There is almost no outgoing speed. I don’t know if it will have an impact or not… [The launch is simulated.] We are having an impact. We’ll call it a kill on this unknown aircraft. Control T-1 doesn’t know what kind of plane it is either…
OPERATOR 2: That’s weird.
OPERATOR 1: Strange.
As a bonus, for serious investigators, the videotape contains the camera’s tracking indicators, including azimuth, elevation and distance to target indicators. With this information, the anomalous nature of the object’s movements can be studied in more detail.
In the original ‘Sightings’ TV episode where the video was made available, it was reported that the videotape was smuggled out by base employees, which may be true, but we have to struggling to understand how this could have happened without the personnel involved being discovered.
Could there be a more clandestine motive behind the release of this video? If so, what would be the purpose?
