William J. Birnes has a JD with a specialization in entertainment and literary law, as well as a Ph.D. in Medieval Literature. He presently serves as the Chairman of the Board at Sunrise Community Counseling Center, where he is in charge of reviewing the center’s operational and management budgets, as well as the budgets for its federal and state funding programs.
Dr. Birnes, a New York Times bestselling author and former writer/consulting producer/host for the History Channel, taught English at Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey, from 1968 until 1983.
Dr. Birnes, who has worked as a statistical and financial analyst under a Bureau of Justice Administration grant at the United States Department of Justice, was also a grants-award administrator and judge for the National Endowment for the Arts and a Fellow in the National Endowment for the Humanities.
He is the author of Psychiatric Criminology, a professional reference text for medical and law students published by Taylor and Francis’ CRC Press.
