Dawn, a NASA spacecraft, was sent to Ceres’ orbit on a recon mission to see whether there was any chance of life in this system. What looked to be just another failed NASA mission turned out to have some incredible proof to back it up.
As you can see, these two dazzling spots emerged rather clearly in front of the camera lens, reflecting light in an unexpected and unnatural way.
Furthermore, three miles above the planet’s surface, another strange pyramid-shaped mountain was discovered.
Is there any connection between them? NASA agreed, so Dawn was sent out once again to take a closer look. On May 11, 2015, Dawn snapped even more photos of the planet, mapping roughly 2,700 kilometers of the planet’s surface.
This time, though, instead of explaining anything, it made things stranger. In one of the planet’s brightest zones, at least eight new spots seem to be seen.
